Moving & Transfer Rules

Per Wisconsin Statute 704.27

  • The rental period begins on the first day of the month and ends on the last day of the month, regardless of when the tenant moved in.

  • We do not allow transfers or moving during the term of a 12 month lease.

  • If a tenant is in a month to month lease, they must notify VBM in writing 30 days prior to moving out. The last day of the following month will then be considered the move out date. Any tenant(s) in the unit after the last day of the month will be required to pay an additional month’s rent. This includes additional occupants on the lease who have already moved out but are still on the lease.

  • Once the premises is vacated, the keys must be returned to the offices of Vine & Branch Management at on or before the last day of your lease. This can be done by dropping them off at our office located at N7402 State Hwy 42, Sheboygan, WI 53083 or by mailing them to P.O. Box 68, Kiel, WI 53042. For your convenience, there is a night deposit box at our Sheboygan office location near the last set of doors to the building. Please note: it is the tenant’s responsibility to ensure the keys are received within the required time. Keys “lost in the mail” will be considered a failure to return keys and will result in a $100 re-keying charge per your lease agreement.

  • Once a tenant puts in their notice they must vacate the premises by the date they have submitted to Vine & Branch Management. Failure to do so will result in additional rent charges.

  • We request that tenants in a 12 month rental agreement notify us of their intention to remain in the property or renew the lease prior to the expiration of the lease term.

Tenants may move to other properties pending an application and qualification process.
